Asus ROG Swift PG27AQDP

workspace_premium Outstanding

Best For

  • Competitive FPS gamers who regularly hit 400+ FPS
  • Dark-room setups where OLED contrast shines
  • PC gamers with a high-end GPU to match the 480Hz panel

Consider Carefully

  • Users who need USB-C or KVM connectivity
  • Bright-room setups where 275-nit SDR brightness falls short
  • Budget-conscious buyers who can't justify $999 for 1440p

The Bottom Line

The Asus ROG Swift PG27AQDP stands out as a top-tier gaming monitor, offering an exceptional blend of speed, image quality, and cutting-edge technology. What we found particularly impressive is its next-generation OLED HDR technology, which provides deep blacks and true blacks with completely off pixels, ensuring a stunning contrast ratio. This monitor's sub-0.1ms gray-to-gray response time and two HDMI 2.1 ports further solidify its position as a high-performance choice. IGN's review highlights its native 480Hz at 1440p without special modes or resolution trade-offs, which is a significant advantage for gamers demanding the highest refresh rates. However, there are a few trade-offs to consider. The lack of a USB-C input and the requirement for a powerful PC to fully utilize its 480Hz refresh rate might be drawbacks for some users. Additionally, the matte finish and the full-screen brightness capped at 275-nits, as noted by several sources, might not appeal to those who prefer a glossier look or higher peak brightness.

In-Depth Analysis

Refresh Rate Performance 97

Strong consensus ยท 21 sources

The PG27AQDP is the first monitor to hit 480Hz at full 1440p, no resolution compromises, no special modes. Whether you can actually feed it enough frames is a different question.

Key Takeaway

โ†’If you're a competitive FPS player with a GPU that can push 400+ fps in your main titles, this is the only 1440p monitor that delivers 480Hz without compromise. If you're not, save the money.

In-Depth Analysis

Refresh Rate Performance

Strong consensus ยท 21 sources
97 / 100

Native 480Hz at QHD is genuinely new territory. Every other high-refresh OLED before this required either dropping resolution or enabling a special mode to get there. Nine sources flag this as the obvious pick for competitive FPS players, and igorslab.de confirmed it's the first WQHD panel to hit this milestone. The catch is real though: effingnerdery.net and displayninja.com both point out that most current games can't sustain framerates where 480Hz meaningfully separates itself from 360Hz. Three sources, including Monitors Unboxed and displayninja.com, suggest waiting if a 240Hz W-OLED at $200 less would cover your actual use case. If you're deep in CS2 or Quake and running a top-tier GPU, this is built for you. Everyone else should do the math on their frame counts first.

โ€” Tom's Hardware

Where Reviewers Disagree

480Hz at 1440p is a real technical achievement, but multiple sources agree most current games can't sustain the framerates needed to justify it over cheaper 240Hz or 360Hz alternatives.

Motion Clarity 96

Unanimous consensus ยท 17 sources

Eight sources call this the best motion clarity available for competitive gaming. The 0.03ms GTG response time and 480Hz combination produce zero ghosting and sub-1ms feel that reviewers consistently describe as exceptional.

Key Takeaway

โ†’For competitive PC gaming at high framerates, motion clarity is best-in-class. Console gamers and anyone gaming at 60Hz should look elsewhere.

In-Depth Analysis

Motion Clarity

Unanimous consensus ยท 17 sources
96 / 100

The motion performance here is about as close to unanimous as monitor reviews get. Effingnerdery.net's description of sub-1ms response times feeling incredible in fast-paced games echoes across eight sources. Back2gaming.com measured 0.03ms GTG with zero ghosting or overshoot. The BFI implementation at up to 240Hz gives users with mid-range GPUs a clarity shortcut without needing to hit 480fps. Two things worth knowing: ELMB mode significantly limits brightness according to Digital Trends, so running native 480Hz is the better path for most setups. And rtings.com flagged higher input lag at 60Hz, which matters if you're planning to use this with a console. This panel was designed for PC competitive gaming at high framerates, and that's exactly what it delivers.

OLED Image Quality 94

Strong consensus ยท 16 sources

Seven sources agree the OLED contrast is exceptional for dark room gaming, and the new subpixel layout finally makes text legible enough for daily use.

Key Takeaway

โ†’If you want OLED contrast for gaming and need the monitor to double as a workstation display, this is the first W-OLED that handles both without serious compromise.

In-Depth Analysis

OLED Image Quality

Strong consensus ยท 16 sources
94 / 100

The contrast story is what you'd expect from OLED: 1,500,000:1 static contrast ratio, true blacks, colors that pop in dark environments. What's more interesting is the text situation. Previous W-OLED panels had a reputation for fringing that made them awkward for productivity. The PG27AQDP's Clear Pixel Edge subpixel layout changes that enough that Monitors Unboxed called it viable for mixed use, and fishychair went further, recommending it specifically for programmers. That's a meaningful shift. The weaknesses are real but narrow: displayninja.com notes color luminance trails QD-OLED alternatives, rtings.com flags the matte finish as a perceived clarity trade-off, and effingnerdery.net mentions some shadow detail loss versus LCD. Linus Tech Tips pointed out it suits users sensitive to QD-OLED color fringing, which is a legitimate reason to choose this panel over the competition.

Color Accuracy 93

Strong consensus ยท 11 sources

Factory calibration lands under Delta E 2 with 99% DCI-P3 coverage and true 10-bit color depth. Four sources say it's sufficient for professional color work without additional calibration.

In-Depth Analysis

Color Accuracy

Strong consensus ยท 11 sources
93 / 100

The color credentials are strong across the board. DisplayNinja confirmed factory calibration with Delta E under 2, displayspecifications.com verified 10-bit native color depth without FRC dithering, and Tom's Hardware found richly saturated color without needing calibration out of the box. The dedicated sRGB emulation mode is a practical addition for anyone switching between creative work and gaming. The one dissenting note comes from effingnerdery.net, which found sRGB colors still needed tweaking. PC Centric echoed that, recommending calibration if accurate saturation is critical. Brandon Taylor's tip to use the racing preset for gaming and RGB mode for editing is the kind of practical detail that saves time. For most users, out-of-box accuracy is genuinely good. For color-critical professional work, budget time for calibration.

HDR & Brightness 90

Strong consensus ยท 10 sources

1,300 nits peak brightness is genuinely impressive for an OLED, but full-screen brightness caps at 275 nits, so bright-room desktop use will expose the limits.

Key Takeaway

โ†’For dark room HDR gaming this delivers, but if your setup gets significant ambient light, the 275-nit full-screen cap will be a daily frustration.

In-Depth Analysis

HDR & Brightness

Strong consensus ยท 10 sources
90 / 100

MLA+ technology is doing real work here. Digital Trends called the brightness increase exceptional over prior OLEDs, and at 1,300 nits for small highlights with 99% DCI-P3 coverage, the HDR performance in dark rooms is hard to argue with. The VESA True Black 400 certification is the right cert for this panel type. The problem is the full-screen cap. DisplayNinja measured 275 nits at full-screen brightness, which is modest for a monitor at this price. ABL behavior without Uniform Brightness enabled adds another variable. Two sources flag it as best experienced in dim to moderate ambient light, and that's honest. The practical advice from both Tom's Hardware and displayninja.com is consistent: run Game HDR mode at 100 brightness for gaming, enable Uniform Brightness for desktop work.

Full-screen brightness capped at 275-nits

Build & Ergonomics 85

Strong consensus ยท 18 sources

The stand is fully articulated with portrait rotation and a built-in camera mount, but the three-legged base eats desk space and the $999 price tag comes with some notable omissions.

In-Depth Analysis

Build & Ergonomics

Strong consensus ยท 18 sources
85 / 100

The physical design has genuine highlights. The built-in 1/4-inch tripod socket at the top is a thoughtful addition that three sources specifically called out for streamers and content creators. The aspect ratio crop mode that mimics a 24.5-inch display is a real feature for competitive players who want a familiar feel without buying a second monitor. The semi-translucent frosted rear panel is distinctive, though heavy ROG branding won't suit everyone. The stand problems are consistent across sources: the three-legged base takes up substantial desk space, IGN and back2gaming.com both flagged it, and Brandon Taylor and PC Centric both recommend a monitor arm as the better solution. Back2gaming.com also noted the lowered height position is limited by the raised base design, portrait rotation only works one direction, and the external DC power adapter is an inelegant choice at this price. No built-in speakers either.

Asus has packed in a solid set of burn-in prevention tools, and Digital Trends and rtings.com both acknowledge the coverage is thorough. The honest framing from rtings.com is that these features require active use, not just installation. This isn't a set-and-forget situation. IGN flags that burn-in-conscious buyers should verify the specific protection features before purchasing, which is reasonable advice for any OLED at this price. The burn-in risk on OLED panels is real and well-documented, and the PG27AQDP's toolset is among the better implementations available, but it shifts some responsibility to the user.

In-Depth Analysis

Connectivity & Features

Divided consensus ยท 11 sources
78 / 100

The connectivity situation has a meaningful catch that Linus Tech Tips and Monitors Unboxed both surfaced: running full 480Hz requires DSC compression, and that requires a modern GPU that supports it. Linus Tech Tips put it plainly, noting buyers need to accept compression for full 480Hz operation. That's not a dealbreaker, but it's not in the marketing materials either. The missing USB-C is harder to defend. Both IGN and Digital Trends called it out specifically, and at $999 it's the kind of omission that stings. No KVM switch functionality either, which the pricier ROG models include. On the software side, rtings.com flagged bugs causing settings to randomly change, and Digital Trends found the AI gaming features unnecessary. Console users get 120Hz VRR via HDMI 2.1, which is functional but not the reason to buy this panel.

Our Verdict

The Asus ROG Swift PG27AQDP earns its 91/100 score by delivering something genuinely new: native 480Hz at 1440p on an OLED panel, with 0.03ms response times and 1300-nit peak brightness. Competitive gamers who can push high frame counts will get real, measurable benefits here. The missing USB-C and modest 275-nit full-screen brightness are real omissions at $999, but if your priority is the fastest, sharpest motion on an OLED display available right now, this is the one to buy.

Amazing monitor, Matte is perfectly fine

Peter M. โ€ข 2026-06-06
I have been able to see quite a few different monitors and I will say this one wont be a regret. You cannot notice any difference between this and a 540hz TN in competitive games when it comes to smoothness. I also had the chance to see this next to its big brother with a glossy panel and while its turned on the colors on the glossy are slightly better but it took me 10 minutes side by side to notice any difference. If you want to spend a little more on glossy and the newer model that doesn’t need DSC you can but you really do not need it its a minimal gain. Now the monitor itself is fantastic and the OSD is fine for me but the pc app is slow. If you are questioning if OLED is worth it though…. 10000% there has been no bigger upgrade in gaming for me in the last 10 years. Colors feel so real, darks are dark and 0 ghosting. Hands down the best value upgrade you can make

This 38" 4K Asus monitor offers a lot to love when it comes to functionality and performance. Designed for work, gaming, and creative needs, it offers an array of features to elevate your digital experience.Readability is a standout feature; the clarity of text is remarkable. If spreadsheets and articles are part of your daily grind, your eyes will be in for a treat.Color accuracy is another high point. Creative professionals and color aficionados will find that this monitor meets their expectations.A word about screen size and distance: At 38 inches, it is best viewed from 2-3 feet away (approximately 60-90 cm). This is about the largest screen that’s comfortably usable at 4K resolution. The IPS panel does show some minor corner glow on darker scenes, but this is unlikely to interfere with your day-to-day activities. As for HDR, it’s more of a checkbox feature. While it’s there and technically functions, don’t expect it to be the star of the show. Consider it a “nice-to-have” rather than a game-changer.Where compatibility is concerned, the 16:9 aspect ratio with 4K resolution is spot-on. Need to downscale to 1080p for graphically demanding games? No problemโ€”everything scales smoothly, sans glitches. For gamers, the Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) options are a boon. With G-Sync compatibility included, the monitor promises smoother gameplay whether you’re using high-end Nvidia and AMD cards or modern consoles like the Xbox Series X and Sony PlayStation 5.One more perk for those worried about the longevity of their screens: this monitor doesn’t suffer from the image burn-in risks that you might associate with OLED technology. While the monitor has 5W speakers and USB connections, consider these features the cup holders of this technological “sports car”โ€”nice to have but not why you made the purchase. Now, if there’s a chink in the armor, it’s the lack of deep blacks that OLED technology offers. While the monitor excels in many areas, if you’re seeking OLED-level blacks, this isn’t the screen for you.In summary, this 38" 4K Asus monitor is a nearly perfect blend of size, clarity, and versatility. If you’re eyeing an upgrade, it comes highly recommIt is highly recommended if you’re considering an upgrade.

Incredible monitor. Purchased in November of ‘24. Still going strong. Gorgeous colors, and incredible contrast. Text looks great. I’ve used it for around 13 hours per day and haven’t experienced any burn-in issues. A WOLED panel is absolutely recommended to uplevel video game experiences.

Awful experience and beta firmware

Jacob and Kate โ€ข 2025-12-01
Horrible white uniformity, left half is magenta and right half is green. My 10 year old IPS had better uniformity.OSD is VERY buggy and half the settings dont work even after multiple firmware updates (check the firmware update change list they acknowledge the bugs as fixed and are still not.OLED Anti Flicker wont work at all no matter what combination used, support could not help me either.DSC causes the display to disconnect anytime I enter display settings in Windows settings or close a full screen window.Pixel cleaning would run for 6 hours straight and when I turned my monitor it would report failed when its supposed to only run for a few minutes.Factory calibration was off and not as the card included states.Has dark crushing from RGB 1,1,1 ~ 4,4,4 unless you run it at 1.8 gamma and then calibrate from that. But then you end up with massive SRGB color loss of only 78% SRGB instead of 99%.Matte coating makes everything look like a smeary grainy mess on gray colors.Text looked good with MacType DeepGrayNoHinting enabled and Windows ClearType disabled. This will be my first and last Matte OLED DSC monitor.

Extremely top of the line quality, fit on the wall mount I already had installed. VRR gives a lot of trouble on display port. The USB ports can be set to turn off when monitor goes on standby. Saved me from having to unplug my stupid rgb speakers because they turn off automatically.

En mi caso no funciona con Heroes of the Storm (HOTS), ya que estรก pensado para tรญtulos especรญficos como League of Legends o Dota.En resumen: una pantalla espectacular, especialmente si valoras la calidad de imagen y los colores. La recomiendo totalmente.

Sub-1ms OLED response times deliver exceptional motion clarity in fast-paced titles like Doom and Call of Duty. The $1000 price point was a significant consideration.

Strengths

  • +Amazing colors with inky blacks that make content pop
  • +Improved sRGB accuracy over previous generation OLED
  • +Sub-1ms response times feel incredible in fast-paced games
  • +Exceptional motion clarity for competitive gaming

Weaknesses

  • โˆ’sRGB colors still need tweaking out of the box
  • โˆ’$1000 price point is expensive for a monitor
  • โˆ’480Hz unnecessary for most current games

The PG27AQDP is the first 1440p 480Hz OLED gaming monitor, featuring a new LG W-OLED panel that doubles the refresh rate of its 240Hz predecessor. At $1,000, it commands a premium over current W-OLED alternatives now priced below $800. The design remains familiar with an elevated metal stand, RGB lighting including a projected logo, and a new translucent rear plastic. Fanless operation continues, while connectivity upgrades to DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC and two full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports supporting the full 480Hz. The RGWB sub-pixel layout improves text clarity over previous W-OLED designs, though some artifacts persist. Motion clarity targets competitive gamers, while per-pixel HDR control suits single-player experiences.

  • โ†’Ideal for competitive gamers prioritizing 480Hz motion clarity
  • โ†’Viable for mixed use with improved text over prior W-OLEDs

After one year of ownership, the reviewer considers this 27-inch 1440p OLED monitor a 'no compromises' display for gaming. The 480Hz refresh rate, near-perfect response times, and gorgeous colors with deep blacks deliver exceptional performance. The anti-glare finish performs well across various lighting conditions, and the stand offers excellent adjustability despite bulky tripod legs. HDR400 True Black certification with 1300 nits peak brightness and 99% DCI-P3 coverage provide strong image quality. However, the 480Hz refresh rate feels excessive for the reviewer's 3080 GPU, and the absence of USB-C, built-in speakers, and an internal power supply may disappoint some users.

  • โ†’Ideal for competitive gamers prioritizing speed and visual fidelity
  • โ†’Works well in bright rooms due to anti-glare coating
  • โ†’Sufficient for professional color work with factory calibration
  • โ†’Consider lower refresh rate alternatives to save money
  • โ†’Ensure adequate desk space for tripod base or use VESA mount

The reviewer evaluates the $1,000 Asus ROG Swift PG27AQDP as a top-tier 480Hz 1440p OLED gaming monitor with 0.03ms response time. They consider the pricing reasonable given historical Asus releases and current market conditions. The matte WOLED panel delivers rich, deep colors with 99% DCI-P3 coverage. Standout features include AI shadow boost that preserves image quality while brightening dark areas, and aspect ratio control that sharply shrinks the 27-inch display to a 24-inch-like experience. The reviewer recommends using the racing gaming preset for general use and RGB mode for color work. They advise against using ELMB since it requires dropping to 240Hz or 120Hz, defeating the monitor's primary selling point. The stand is bulky for shorter desks, and the matte finish may disappoint glossy panel enthusiasts.

  • โ†’Ideal for competitive FPS players seeking maximum refresh rate
  • โ†’Use racing preset for gaming, RGB mode for editing

The higher refresh rate reduces stroboscopic stepping effects and improves perceived sharpness during fast movement. Comprehensive aspect ratio controls accommodate competitive gaming preferences, including legacy resolutions. The ELMB black frame insertion feature works up to 240Hz with improved brightness over previous ASUS implementations, though with menu activation complexity and HDR/VRR incompatibility. Adaptive Sync certification covers AMD, NVIDIA and VESA standards, with OLED anti-flicker modes included.

This 27-inch 1440p WOLED monitor delivers a 480Hz refresh rate with deep blacks, 10-bit color, and 99% DCI-P3 coverage factory-calibrated to Delta E < 2. SDR brightness reaches 450 nits while HDR peaks at 1300 nits across multiple adjustable modes. The anti-glare matte coating trades some clarity for practical lighting flexibility. Gaming performance shines in esports titlesโ€”Rocket League hit 500-620 FPS with 1ms frame timesโ€”but current GPUs struggle to reach 480 FPS in AAA games. Unique AI features include dynamic crosshair coloring and shadow boost. OLED anti-flicker reduces VRR flickering without disabling sync, though toggling it can cause delays or crashes. Missing USB-C and DisplayPort 2.1 feel like omissions at $999.

  • โ†’Ideal for competitive esports players seeking maximum refresh rates
  • โ†’Best paired with top-tier GPUs to approach 480 FPS potential

This 27-inch 1440p OLED monitor delivers a 480Hz refresh rate with exceptionally sharp motion handling and low input lag at higher refresh rates. The stand offers easy adjustability with cable management, while connectivity includes DisplayPort 1.4, dual HDMI 2.1, USB hub, and headphone jack. OLED strengths shine through with perfect contrast, no blooming, and impressive HDR brightness for small highlights. Console compatibility is solid, including 4K downscaling up to 120Hz for Xbox HDR. However, significant firmware bugs plague the experienceโ€”settings change spontaneously, some lock out, and others malfunction entirely. VRR flicker in dark scenes proves distracting, with the anti-flicker setting introducing stutter. Black frame insertion only works at fixed 120Hz or 240Hz, not with VRR. Input lag spikes considerably at 60Hz, and brightness fluctuates between different content windows.

  • โ†’Best suited for high-frame-rate PC gaming above 60Hz
  • โ†’Ideal for dark room gaming with OLED contrast advantages
  • โ†’Console users benefit from 4K downscaling for HDR

This 27-inch 1440p OLED monitor delivers 480Hz refresh rate without the resolution compromises of earlier high-refresh OLED displays. It uses LG's WOLED panel with micro lens array plus technology, claiming 20% wider viewing angles and reduced color fringing. A custom heatsink aims to mitigate burn-in risk, backed by a three-year warranty. The reviewer notes it avoids the purple hue sometimes seen on QD-OLED panels. However, achieving 1440p at 480Hz requires Display Stream Compression (DSC) since no current GPU supports DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20, and both DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 lack sufficient bandwidth. The reviewer expresses concern about potentially detecting compression artifacts that DSC's 'visually lossless' claim allows.

  • โ†’Ideal for competitive esports seeking maximum motion clarity
  • โ†’Best paired with upcoming GPUs supporting newer display standards
  • โ†’Requires acceptance of compression for full 480Hz operation
  • โ†’Suitable for users sensitive to QD-OLED color artifacts

This 480Hz 1440p OLED monitor delivers exceptional competitive gaming performance without sacrificing image quality. The reviewer found no perceptible difference versus 540Hz panels, while 1440p resolution and OLED technology provide dramatic improvements over previous 1080p TN options. HDR content consumption impressed significantly. The 27-inch size works well for both gaming and productivity, with a 25-inch crop mode available. At 265 nits brightness, it suits most environments though may not satisfy users needing extreme brightness. Both glossy and matte coating options exist for different room conditions. The 0.03ms response time is technically impressive though practically indistinguishable from 1-2ms alternatives. OLED burn-in risk exists, mitigated by built-in care features.

  • โ†’Ideal upgrade path from 240Hz or lower refresh rates
  • โ†’Competitive gamers benefit most from tight angle confidence
  • โ†’Content creators gain editing workspace at 1440p resolution

This 480Hz QHD OLED monitor impressed the reviewer immediately upon first use. The design is exceptionally thin and lightweight yet stable, with generous height adjustment that eliminated the need for monitor risers. A 3/8-inch thread on top accommodates accessories like cameras or lighting. The OLED panel delivers true blacks with pixels that completely turn off, producing colors the reviewer describes as 'on a different level' compared to IPS. Sharpness is noticeably improved for desktop use, programming, and gaming without causing eye strain. The 480Hz refresh rate creates an almost lifelike, fluid experience with zero ghosting in motion tests, though requires powerful hardware to fully utilize. A minor grittiness appears on uniform dark colors.

This 27-inch 1440p OLED monitor delivers 480Hz refresh rate with virtually zero millisecond response times, creating exceptionally clear motion for competitive gaming. The new W OLED panel eliminates color fringing on text and improves sharpness over previous 1440p OLEDs. A 24.5-inch cropped mode retains 480Hz for those transitioning from smaller screens. ELMB mode at 240Hz helps with lower frame rate games but suffers from very low brightness. Alt-tabbing between desktop and games experiences significant delays, likely due to display stream compression. While among the brightest OLEDs tested, overall brightness remains below LCD alternatives with dedicated backlighting.

  • โ†’Ideal for competitive shooters running above 480 FPS
  • โ†’Best suited for dark room usage due to OLED brightness limitations

PC Centric The reviewer unboxes and begins testing what they describe as โ€ฆ

The reviewer unboxes and begins testing what they describe as potentially the 'Ultimate Gaming Monitor,' featuring a 1440p resolution with a 480Hz native refresh rate using next-generation OLED HDR technology. Priced around ยฃ950 in the UK and $1,000 in the US at launch, it represents a more accessible price point compared to earlier premium monitors. The unit uses an LGW OLED panel rather than QD OLED, which means differences in glossy versus matte finish and color saturation. Assembly is straightforward with a thumb screw base mount. The monitor includes classic ROG adjustments including tilt, height adjust, and 90-degree rotation, though the stand may tip backward at full extension on shallow desks. Included accessories feature USB cable for on-screen menu computer control, DisplayPort 1.4 cable, and cleaning cloth.

  • โ†’Ideal for competitive multiplayer gamers prioritizing refresh rate
  • โ†’1440p sweet spot for high frame rate gaming
  • โ†’Consider VESA mount if desk depth is limited
  • โ†’Calibrate colors if accurate saturation matters
  • โ†’Better value than previous generation premium monitors

Marty Explains Tech The reviewer considers this OLED monitor one of the most impressive โ€ฆ

The reviewer considers this OLED monitor one of the most impressive gaming displays currently available. It features a 27-inch 1440p panel with infinite contrast ratio, peak brightness around 1200 nits, and 99% DCI-P3 color coverage. Response times range from 0.03 milliseconds with a 480 Hz refresh rateโ€”double that of comparable OLED monitors. It supports both NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium. Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort, audio out, and USB ports with cables included. Priced around $979, it occasionally drops to $750. The reviewer notes burn-in risk as a consideration with OLED technology.

The reviewer tested the PG27AQDP and found it delivers unmatched motion clarity at 480Hz/1440p, with latency reduced to 2.1ms. Motion blur is nearly eliminated, making text and details clearly visible during fast movement. However, the reviewer questions whether the $999 price is justified, noting diminishing returns on latency improvement beyond 360Hz. The 480Hz refresh rate demands both a powerful GPU and CPU, with even top-tier processors potentially unable to push many games past 240-360fps. For competitive gaming, the motion clarity improvement may warrant the premium, though the sub-1ms latency gain over 360Hz is likely imperceptible.

  • โ†’Best suited for competitive esports gamers prioritizing motion clarity
  • โ†’Verify CPU can push target framerates before purchasing
  • โ†’Less beneficial for latency-focused buyers above 360Hz
  • โ†’Quality-of-life improvement for split-second aiming decisions
  • โ†’Future-proof option as hardware catches up to 480Hz demands
